Tingalpa Hotel

The Tingalpa Hotel, formerly known as "The Royal Mail Hotel, has essentially seen the evolution of Brisbane. 150 years of wear and tear had left this hotel in need of some repair. The difficulty was coming up with a concept that respects the backbreaking work of the pioneers, while meeting the requirements of a modern day watering hole.

Through the use of construction management, Austruct commenced work immediately , without waiting the 6-12 months required for a complete design.  The possibility of having this establishment open 12 months earlier than under normal construction, was extremely appealing to our client.

As the works progressed Austruct achieved our next objective, to construct the works with minimal impact on the operation of the existing hotel. By working with the management and staff we completed this $4.5m renovation while allowing the ongoing trade of the existing hotel and bottleshop.
